Express Entry is just a year old system, introduced to meet the demand of skilled workers as per the local labor market, and keep a check on the flow of trained personnel in the country. Skilled workers with the ability to integrate into the country’s society, and an intention to bring along their family with the intention to permanently settle, are given preference.
The system covers following economic programmes:

- Federal Skilled Trades Programme (FSTP)
- Experience Class of Canada (CEC)
- Provincial Nominee Programme (PNP)
Qualified manpower, between the age group of 18 and 44, with at least one year of experience in a related field and a bachelor’s degree, are eligible to apply. The applicant must be fluent either in English and/or French, fluency of the second language is an added advantage.
Express Entry is an electronic, point based system even as applicants are selected on the basis of various factors, such as age, language, education, arranged job, adaptability and experience. Each candidate may score about 1200 points. The maximum points you score, the more are the chances of your selection.
Note: Qualified labor force must intend to live and work outside Quebec province as the Quebec has its own skilled programme.
